Early December is the perfect season for mountain climbing. Our employees
from Glodom Chengdu came to Siguniang Mountain to take in the snowy landscapes.
The core scenic spots of Siguniang Mountains Scenic Area are Shuang Qiao Gou,
Chang Ping Gou, Hai Zi Gou, Yaoguniang Mountain (Yaomei Peak), Sanguniang
Mountain, Erguniang Mountain and Daguniang Mountain. This time around, our
tight schedule unfortunately meant we could only visit Shuang Qiao Gou and
Chang Ping Gou.
In the morning, everyone boarded the bus heading to Siguniang
Mountain. The weather was pristine with nary a cloud in the sky, weather
conditions rarely seen in these mountainous areas. However, it seemed as if
things would take a turn for worst as we encountered snow and rain passing by
Balangshan Mountain. Despite our initial worries about the acclimate weather
affecting our tour, we soon discovered there was no need for concern, as the
weather cleared up once we arrived at the scenic spot. Surrounded by the blue
sky and white clouds, the magnificent scenery surrounding us put us all at
ease.
Shuang Qiao Gou was our first stop, as we often heard the
snow-capped mountains can purify the soul. Not only that, the views of the
mountains in the plateau areas are said to be an almost otherworldly
experience. Seen from a distance in fine weather, the snow-capped mountains
stood high against the clear blue sky. As the clouds wound themselves around
the mountainous peaks, we found ourselves amazed at the majesty of nature. Everyone
scattered to take pictures and record this wonderful moment of man and nature
coexisting harmoniously.
For dinner, we indulged in some local Tibetan specialties. We
enjoyed Tibetan hot pot, yak meat, potatoes, highland barley wine, glutinous
rice cake, butter tea, bacon sausage, wild vegetables, and other fabulous local
dishes that are hard to find otherwise. The owner of the restaurant, who also devotes
herself to handling medical treatment for disabled children from local ethnic
minorities, performed special folk songs and dances for us as we ate. All of us
expressed our gratitude by giving her as much money as we could. In the
evening, we held a bonfire party in the snow to get a better sense of the
inherent charm seen in ethnic minorities.
The next day, we set off to Chang Ping Gou to view the snow-covered
landscapes. Although the thin layer of snow that was present was not much by
mountain standards, it did not affect our enjoyment, and many played in the
snow with gleeful abandon. Observing the snow-covered branches and watching the
snow-capped mountains in this winter wonderland, we were able to experience a
kind of scenery unimaginable to our fellow colleagues in back in Shenzhen.
In the afternoon, we finished our tour and returned to Chengdu,
bring out two-day trip to a close. In that time, we witnessed exquisite
snow-covered landscapes and more significantly, came back with even more
beautiful memories.
